SUMMARY:Family Chapter Meeting
DESCRIPTION:CISV chapter meetings are where laughter fills the room and friendships bloom across all ages\, creating a vibrant community where everyone from 7 to 107 can find their place! Picture energetic icebreaker games that get everyone giggling\, collaborative art projects where different generations share creative ideas\, and experience CISV’s four areas of content. The magic happens when younger members team up with older participants for scavenger hunts\, storytelling circles\, or friendly competition in international games that spark joy and connection. The infectious energy comes from knowing that everyone belongs\, everyone contributes\, and everyone leaves with new friends and unforgettable memories. At CISV\, fun isn’t just an add-on – it’s the heart of how lasting friendships are formed and how people of all ages discover the joy of being part of a truly inclusive community\, learning to be global citizens.\n\nHaving multiple inclusive friend groups creates a rich tapestry of belonging that strengthens young people in profound ways. When youth connect with diverse circles – perhaps teammates from sports\, classmates in drama club\, neighbors in their community\, or peers who share their cultural background – they develop a more complete sense of identity and resilience. Each group offers unique perspectives\, experiences\, and forms of support\, preventing the isolation that can happen when someone feels like they don’t quite fit into just one social circle. These varied friendships teach empathy\, cultural awareness\, and social flexibility while providing multiple safety nets during challenging times. Young people who belong to several welcoming communities learn that there are many ways to be valued and accepted\, discover different aspects of their own personality\, and develop the confidence that comes from knowing they have places where they truly belong. This network of inclusive relationships not only enriches their current experience but builds the social skills and open-mindedness that will serve them throughout their lives\, creating a foundation for meaningful connections across all the communities they’ll encounter as they grow.\n\nCISV creates a uniquely welcoming community across the USA where young people from all backgrounds\, cultures\, and experiences come together to build meaningful friendships that celebrate diversity and promote understanding. Through local chapters in cities nationwide\, youth find a safe and inclusive space where they belong\, develop leadership skills\, and connect with peers who share their passion for making the world more peaceful and connected. This supportive network empowers American youth to become global citizens while staying rooted in their local communities\, fostering both personal growth and lifelong friendships that span cultures and continents.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. \n⭐RMC Circus⭐ (March 27-29\, 2020) \nEpworth Forest Conference Center\, 8531 E Epworth Forest Rd\, North Webster\, IN 46555 \nArrive Friday Around 6-7 PM \nPick up Sunday between 11:30-1 \n  \nWhat is Regional Mini-Camp (RMC)\, you may be wondering? \nRMC is a weekend-long camp for the Midwest Region chapters of CISV USA: Cincinnati\, Columbus\, Detroit\, Michigan City-Lakeshore\, Midwest Ohio\, and Northeast Ohio. (CISV USA has 6 total regions\, with each region hosting a mini-camp annually.) The Local Junior Representatives (LJRs) from each chapter get together and plan RMC each year. This camp is always a great time and an awesome way to meet fellow CISVers from the USA. Each year\, a different chapter in our region hosts RMC. This year\, Michigan City-Lakeshore (Indiana) will be hosting. Because it is a bit of a drive\, those that are attending coordinate a carpool with any chaperones that are also attending\, so please do not worry about how to get your child to RMC; we will help make sure that all who want to attend can attend! \nOkay\, so your child is interested in going and you want to know more and/or register them; here’s what you’ll need to do next. \nCheck out the Pre-Camp for RMC. The link for registration is in the Pre-Camp. But hurry! Registration will close on March 13! \nHere is a quick link for the forms also: RMC Forms If you have questions about which forms are needed\, please do not hesitate to ask! \n***One other request we have this year: please email the chapter once you have registered. This will help us coordinate carpooling and also let us know how many chaperones we will need to send from our chapter. If you are interested in chaperoning\, please also let us know ASAP. \nAny questions about RMC? Please email your local Junior Branch at midwestohiojb@gmail.com. The Junior Branch Board is helping to plan this and will be more able to help answer your questions. You can also contact our Junior Branch Co-Advisors\, Katie Bigelow and Mindy Fick through email: bigelow.miss@gmail.com and mmfick7@gmail.com. \nWe hope to see you there!\nGretchen Stevens & Owen Davis\nMidwest Ohio LJRs
