Summer 2026 program applications open Nov 17th. Our life changing opportunities are available for youth delegates aged 11-17 and adults leaders aged 21+ upon application and interview process.

Join us as we explore all the reasons that sending your youth or teen, or leading a delegation as an adult, is a worthwhile endeavor for you and your family.

CISV provides authentic confidence-building opportunities locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. We will be exploring these opportunities and their benefits through the eyes of the participants.

Here are some compelling reasons to send an 11 year-old to a CISV Village program:

**Cultural Understanding & Global Perspective**
CISV Village brings together children from multiple countries (typically 8-12 nations) to live together for about four weeks. Your child will form genuine friendships with peers from vastly different backgrounds, moving beyond stereotypes to see the world through others’ eyes. This isn’t tourism—it’s deep cultural immersion at an age when kids are naturally curious and open.

**Independence & Confidence**
Living away from home for four weeks, often in another country, helps children develop self-reliance and adaptability. They’ll navigate new situations, solve problems independently, and discover capabilities they didn’t know they had. Many parents report their children return noticeably more mature and confident.

**Conflict Resolution Skills**
The program explicitly teaches peaceful conflict resolution through activities and real-life situations. Kids learn to communicate across language barriers, work through disagreements constructively, and appreciate different perspectives—skills that serve them throughout life.

**Lasting International Friendships**
The bonds formed during Village are remarkably strong. Many participants maintain friendships for decades, creating a personal international network and continued reasons to stay engaged with the world.

**Perfect Developmental Timing**
Age 11 is ideal—old enough to handle the independence, young enough to be forming their worldview. They’re at a stage where these experiences can profoundly shape how they see themselves as global citizens.

**Educational Philosophy**
CISV focuses on experiential learning rather than lectures. Through games, activities, and daily living together, children naturally absorb lessons about peace, diversity, and cooperation.
This event is free and open to the public. Bring your favorite dessert to share, and include ingredient list for potential food allergens. Join us!!
